Wally Hase

Wally Hase has been Professor of Flute at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna since October 2018. In 2000 she was appointed full professor of flute at the Liszt School of Music Weimar, and from 2014 to 2018 she was also a guest professor at the University of Music in Krakow.

Even before completing her studies with Prof. Jean-Claude Gerard and Prof. Aurele Nicolet, she became solo flutist at the Staatskapelle Weimar at the age of 22, a position she held until 2009. She continues her orchestral work as a solo flutist with the Camerata Salzburg, the Cappella Andrea Barca, conducted by Sir Andras Schiff, the Staatskapelle Dresden, the SWR Symphonieorchester and WDR Cologne, among others. Wally Hase leads a wide concert life with recitals, solo concerts and chamber music and gives master classes in Europe , Australia, Asia and South America. Numerous recordings at various radio stations, CD recordings with solo and chamber music and often member of an international jury. Wally Hase is a Haynes artist and plays a silver flute made by Wm. S. Haynes / Boston.
