Tomoko Nishikawa

Tomoko Nishikawa performs in many concerts and radio recordings as a soloist and chamber musician.

Born in Tokyo, in Germany since 1983; studied piano with Prof. Ludwig Hoffmann and Prof. Margarita Höhenrieder at the Hochschule für Musik in Munich, graduating with a master’s degree; studied chamber music as a second major; master classes with Rudolf Buchbinder, Arne Torger and Bengt Forsberg; prizewinner in solo and chamber music competitions, including first and special prizes at the international chamber music competition, First prize and special prize at the international chamber music competition “Citta di Finale Ligure” in Italy; 1996 accepted into the support programme of the “Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now” association, voluntary work in the organisation.

Since 1995 teaching position as accompanist at the University of Music and Theatre in Munich, from 2002 to 2007 additional teaching position at the University of Music Nuremberg-Augsburg; sought-after piano accompanist at international master classes and competitions, including the ARD Music Competition Munich, Leopold Mozart Violin Competition, Henri Marteau Violin Competition, Kloster Schöntal Violin Competition and Kronberg Academy.
