Roland Batik

Roland Batik is a pianist, composer and professor as well as artistic director of the Musikfestival Schloss Seibersdorf. Numerous concerts (Europe, Japan), solo career with a classical-romantic and impressionistic repertory as well as compositions of his own. Radio-, CD- and TV recordings. Complete recording of Mozart’s (recording prize “Wiener Flötenuhr“) and Haydn’s Piano Sonatas.

Studied at the Academy of Music Vienna besides classes from F. Gulda and the jazz pianist F. Pauer. 1977 foundation of the Roland Batik Trio with H. Werkl (bass) and W. Grassmann (drums). 1982–88 piano-duo with Paul Gulda. Premieres e. g.: Piano Concert No. 1 (1993), Vier Intermezzi (2001), Piano Concert No. 2 (2004). Cultural award from the state of Lower Austria (2000). Studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna as well as with F. Gulda and the jazz pianist F. Pauer.
