Christoph Zimper is professor for clarinet at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna since 2017. He also is lecturer at the Allegro Vivo summer academy, master class clarinet.
2015 founder and since then artistic director of Weissensee-Klassik-Festival. As chamber musician founding member of Wiener Klangkommune, member of Plattform K&K Vienna, Artos Quintett and other ensembles. Since 2012 solo clarinettist of Salzburg Mozarteum Orchestra. Performances with orchestras such as Vienna and Munich Philharmonic Orchestra, Staatskapelle Dresden, Tonkuenstler Orchestra as well as with the orchestras of Vienna State Opera and Volksoper and Bavarian State Opera. 2011-2012 member of the academy of Munich Philharmonic Orchestra under Lorin Maazel. Winner of several first prizes at competitions at home and abroad.
Studies at the Music University of Vienna with Johann Hindler. Graduated with distinction.
