Concerts Master Class

After longtime engagement as a professor at the Hanover Music Academy, he was appointed professor at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna in 2001. Christian Altenburger is leading a violin master class in Horn in the Waldviertel in August, where young musicians have the opportunity for an intensive musical exchange.

Since 2003 artistic director of the Chamber Music Festival Schwäbischer Frühling and since 2006 of the Music Festival Loisiarte. 1999–2005 artistic director of Festival Mondseetage. Concerts with the Berlin Philhamonic Orchestra, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, New York Philharmonic Orchestra, London Symphony Orchestra and Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra under conductors e.g. C. Abbado, C. von Dohnányi, J. Levine, L. Maazel, Z. Mehta, F. Welser-Möst. Chamber music partners such as B. Canino, P. Demenga, H. Holliger, N. Imai, K. Kashkashian, M. Tan, L. A. Tomter and L. Vogt.

Studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna and under D. DeLay at Juilliard School New York.
