Barbara Gisler-Haase is professor of Flute at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna; previously director of the Leonard Bernstein Institute, since 2015 Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Art and Young Artists‘ Promotion. Lecturer at the Allegro Vivo Summer Academy, flute master class, for many years in Horn, city near Vienna. Many of her students refer to international competition successes and hold important positions in orchestras and universities in many countries.

In the same year she began to teach at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. Member of the Eurasia Quartet, the Vienna Nonett and the Vienna Bach Soloists, in 1983 she founded the Vienna Flautists and in 1997 the Jubal Trio in the formation flute, cello and piano. Numerous concerts with these ensembles as well as more than 15 CD recordings. Author of the flute series “Magic Flute” and “Fit for the flute”. In 2009 development of the “wave line” flute for beginners in cooperation with flute maker Werner Tomasi. This instrument received the “red dot award”.

Studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. In 1974 she won an award in the international competition at Praguer Spring.
