Andrei Banciu, born in Timisoara (Romania) in 1985, received his first piano lessons from Maria Bodo.

Studied with Prof. Klaus Hellwig and Prof. Fabio Bidini, as well as Liedgestaltung with Prof. Wolfram Rieger. Attended master classes with Badura-Skoda, Devoyon, Kämmerling, Pressler and Buchbinder, among others. Numerous prizes at competitions, e.g. 1995 Rovere d’oro (Italy), 2010 Artur Schnabel Berlin. Included in the 60th Federal Selection of Concerts by Young Artists as a piano partner scholarship holder of the 2015 German Music Competition.

2nd prize at the chamber music competition Premio Trio di Trieste 2015. Concerts worldwide, including at the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, solo concerts at the Kissinger Sommer. Pianist of the Jacques Thibaud Ensemble since 2010. Andrei Banciu has taught at renowned institutions such as Musica Mundi and universities in Leipzig, Berlin and Weimar. Concert recordings for radio stations such as Bayerischer Rundfunk, Deutschlandfunk and Radio France.
