Stift Altenburg<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

The Benedictine monastery was founded in 1144. The high Baroque architecture dates from the 17th<\/sup> \u2013 18th<\/sup> centuries and is one of the highpoints of Nieder\u00f6sterreich. Particularly noteworthy are the Kaiser steps, library, church and Sala Terrena as well as the uncovered \u201ecloister under the cloister\u201c.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em>Schloss Rosenburg<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

Records show that Gozwin of Rosenburg was the founder and namesake of Schloss Rosenburg in 1175. In the 16th<\/sup> century the Medieval building was converted into a Renaissance palace. It was extended at the beginning of the 17th<\/sup> century and the Turnierhof was built. Today it is occupied by The Hoyos family.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em>Eggenburg<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

This medieval town with its precious Baroque town houses and Renaissance Church and museum is a popular tourist destination. The 2 km long town walls, which date from the 13th<\/sup> \u2013 14th<\/sup> centuries, are worth seeing.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Stadt Horn<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

The Kunsthaus in Horn was originally built as the family seat of the Pucheim family and later used as a secondary school. For the last 20 years it has been the centre of creative arts in Horn. Painters and other artists have shaped the spirit and atmosphere of this house.<\/p>\n

The Catholic Vereinshaus in Horn was founded as a Christian workshop under Father Benedikt Frey from Stift Altenburg in 1908. Today the house is used for many different activities: music, theatre, cabaret, concerts \u2013 from solo recitals to orchestral concerts, for traditional dances and balls as well as seminars and conferences.<\/p>\n

Stift Geras<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

Founded in 1153 around numerous fishponds, Stift Geras preserves its Baroque image \u2013 created by J. Munggenast \u2013 dating from the mid 17th<\/sup> \u2013 18th<\/sup> centuries. The ceiling and altar paintings in the basilica and the paintings in the Marmorsaal by Paul Troger are worth seeing. LOISIUM<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

Since its opening in 2003 the Loisium has become a centre for viticulture in Niederr\u00f6sterreich. It is embedded in the vineyards of the lower Kamptals on the outskirts of Langenlois, the largest wine region in Austria. It has a relaxing combination of world class architecture coupled with the mystique of the world of wine.<\/p>\n
