Mari Sato was born in Japan. She studied with Prof. Atsuko Okada at the State University of Fine Arts and Music Tokyo. Since 2007 she studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Wien with Prof. Avedis Kouyoumdjian. In 2015 she graduated with distinction and was awarded with a honorary prize.
Prizewinner of numerous national and international competitions, concerts as soloist and chamber musician in Europe and Japan. In 2012 awarded with a first prize for piano at the 18th International Johannes-Brahms-Competition in Pörtschach, Austria and winner of the Schumann prize with the Stratos Quartet at the International Chamber Music Competiton in Pienerolo, Italy. A number of concerts at Vienna Music Hall, Brucknerhaus Linz, Dvorák Festival in Czech Republic, Il Timbro Festival Italy, Wigmorehall London. Since October 2018 accompanist at the University of Music in Vienna.
