Katalin Kokas

Since 2004 professor for violin at the Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest. In 2010 founding artistic director of Hungary’s and the region’s most outstanding classic music festivals, the Kaposfest for five years. Invited by renowned artists to their festivals like G. Kremer to Lockenhaus, E. Bashkirova to Jerusalem, S. Isserlis to Prussia Cove, I. v. Keulen to Delft, A. Schiff to Ittingen. Collaboration as violinist and violist with artists such as F. Rados, Z. Kocsis, J. Bell, M. Perényi, P. Kuusisto or M. Pressler. First prizes of the International Carl Flesch and Joseph Szigeti violin competitions and with her string quartet the Kelemen Quartet awarded in Melbourne, Beijing and the Paolo Borciani contests. Studies at Liszt Academy in Budapest, encouraged by F. Halász, D. Kovács, L. Fenyves, E. Perényi and F. Rados.
