Essi Höglund (born in 1997), young rising Finnish violinist who currently studies at Sibelius-Academy, Helsinki. Has played as a soloist with orchestras such as Helsinki Philharmonic orchestra, Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra and Chamber orchestra of Wallonie. Performs regularly as a soloist and chamber musician. Has been lately working part-timely as a 3rd concertmaster in FRSO. Most important teachers during her career Réka Szilvay, Paavo Pohjola (Sibelius-Academy) and Gerhard Schulz (MDW). Has worked with many renowned artist such as Peter Csaba, Augustin Dumay and Nobuko Imai and has attended to masterclasses of Pinchas Zukerman, Ana Chumachanco, Mi-Kyung Lee and Zakhar Bron among others. Has received scholarships to mention for example, Pro Musica Foundation and Finnish Cultural Foundation. Plays Stradivarius –violin, loaned by Sibelius-Academy.
